I can’t find copies of my PI-1206

If you correctly filed your PI-1206 Homeschool Report, you can go back into your DPI HOMER account and reprint any form from the past 7 years. The Department of Public Instruction only keeps PI-1206 Homeschool Reports for 7 years. As the administrator of your homeschool, you are responsible for keeping a copy of every PI-1206 Homeschool Report you file. That is your proof of compliance with Wisconsin homeschooling law.

If you homeschool through the high school years it is very important that you have a copy of your PI-1206 Homeschool Report for those years. Colleges and employers often ask for a diploma, a transcript, and 4 high school years of the PI-1206 Homeschool Report. The PI-1206 Homeschool Report is proof of your compliance with Wisconsin’s homeschooling laws.

WHPA provides information about homeschooling in Wisconsin. WHPA does not provide specific legal advice to any specific individuals in the context of any specific matters. It is the responsibility of each homeschool administrator/parent or guardian to read original source material and make decisions on compliance for themselves. When you file the PI-1206 Homeschool Report with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, you take full responsibility for understanding and complying with the laws outlined on that form. WHPA does not endorse or provide curriculum suggestions or specific materials for any particular educational approach.
